Sac County Board of Supes to Consider General Plan Amendments Concerning SouthEast Connector and Delta Protection Element
DNLC is informed that two General Plan amendments have been scheduled to be heard by the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors on March 11, 2014 at 2:15 p.m., in the Board Chambers, 700 H Street, Sacramento CA, 95814. The County indicates the proposed amendments relate to (1) the Capital SouthEast Connector, and (2) creation of a “Delta Protection Element” and related amendments to the Open Space Element.
The Capital Southeast Connector project is a proposal to build a 35-mile long multi-modal transportation facility that will extend from the I-5/Hood-Franklin Road interchange, northeast to Highway 50 near El Dorado Hills. The General Plan Amendment related to the Capital Southeast Connector will include amending the Circulation Element to define the function and components of the Connector, and amending the Circulation Element Transportation Plan to show the Connector’s general alignment.
The General Plan is required to be consistent with the Delta Protection Commission’s policy document, “Land Use and Resources Management Plan for the Primary Zone of the Delta” (DPC Plan). Previously, the County incorporated the Plan by reference in the Open Space Element. The amendment would incorporate the Plan through establishing a new Delta Protection Element. The proposed text can be found here.
The County is directing written comments and questions to project manager, Mike Winter at winterm@saccounty.net or (916) 874-5849. Get additional information at the County General Plan Amendments website here.
