High Speed Rail Continues to Chug Along

Despite the recent setbacks for the High Speed Rail, it continues to chug along.  On Friday, the State Public Works Board adopted eight resolutions declaring the necessity for the state to take nine parcels in downtown Fresno.

Most of the properties located in Fresno’s Chinatown District–on or near G Street between Fresno and Mono streets.  Four of the parcels are vacant lots and several of the other lots are occupied by businesses.

The State Water Resources Control Board also approved on of several environmental permits needed for construction to begin between Madera and Fresno.  The approved “401 certification” is required by the Clean Water Act for a project to capture any contaminants or debris that washes away in storm water during construction.
