CALTRANS ALLOCATES $138 MILLION FOR 32 PROJECTS

The California Transportation Commission (CalTrans) has released information on new funding for various infrastructure projects throughout the state.  CalTrans has allocated $138 million in new funding to 32 projects that is supposed to improve highways, bridges, and passenger rail service.

The allocations include approximately $25 million from Proposition 1B, a transportation bond approved by voters in 2006.  The remaining funds come from assorted transportation accounts funded by state and federal dollars.

Among the projects where funds have been allocated include:

San Joaquin County

$8,858,000 for the State Route 12 Mokelumne River Bridge Project near Isleton.

Marysville

$13.7 million will provide improvements to drainage facilities on State Route 89 between US Highway 50 and Cascade Road in South Lake Tahoe.

$27,000 to the Sierra County Transportation Commission.

 Fresno

$7 million for the Cartmill Avenue Interchange Project on State Route 99 near Tulare.

$7.7 million for the Pavement Rehabilitation Project on State Route 99 near Tulare.

$1 million for the McFarland Rumble Strip Project on State Route 99 near McFarland.

 Redding

$1.9 million for the Gilman Drainage Safety Project on Interstate 5 near Lakehead.
