Benjamin Tagert
Benjamin Tagert is an associate at DNLC who joined the firm in 2019. Mr. Tagert works in the areas of eminent domain and inverse condemnation, bankruptcy, and real property litigation.
Mr. Tagert received his bachelor’s degree in International Relations from San Francisco State University in 2012. He received his master’s degree in Engineering and Transportation Management, with a concentration in Humanitarian Crisis Management, from the California Maritime Academy in 2014. He received his juris doctorate from University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in 2019, with concentrations in Capital Lawyering, Environmental Law, and Trial and Appellate Advocacy. Mr. Tagert graduated with distinction as a member of the Traynor Honor Society having been placed on the Dean’s Honor List each year of law school.
During his time at McGeorge, Mr. Tagert clerked for the Fair Political Practices Commission in its Enforcement Division his first-year summer. He then worked for the Honorable Kimberly Mueller in the District Court of the Eastern District of California during his second-year summer. He worked for the Honorable Ronald H. Sargis in the Bankruptcy Court of the Eastern District during the fall semester of his third year. Mr. Tagert was also a staff writer and editor for The University of the Pacific Law Review and a student of the McGeorge Legislative and Public Policy Clinic. During his time with the clinic, he helped develop and advocate for legislation incentivizing collaborative court participation and improving rehabilitation outcomes through debt relief.
